  The Community Foundation of Sanibel-Captiva is a 100% local organization serving the Sanibel and Captiva Island communities.
• Local Giving
  The Community Foundation of Sanibel-Captiva serves charitable organizations on the Islands. It is an affiliate of the Southwest Florida Community Foundation, which has made more that $5.5 million in grants since its inception in 1976.
• Minimum Administrative Expense
  The Community Foundation of Sanibel-Captiva operates with expenses of 1.65% of assets. This is far less than some other organizations throughout the country.
• Maximum Tax Advantage for Donors
  As a public foundation, tax advantages are available that are highly beneficial for donors.
• Flexibility
  The donor has unlimited options for both giving and choosing the charitable purposes for which a gift will be used.
• Endowment Policy
  It is the Foundation’s policy to treat donor established funds as endowments, unless otherwise required. Under this policy, proceeds only are distributed as charitable grants and the fund retains capital growth. This ensure a perpetual and growing memorial that will benefit the community in the donor’s name forever.

There are many ways to give to the Foundation including:

• Outright gift of cash, stock, bonds and real estate

• Gifts by will directly to the Foundation

• Gifts by will through a trustee

• Gifts through a charitable remainder trust, etc.
