The Bailey Society

The Bailey Society is the community-wide support organization of the Community Foundation of Sanibel-Captiva. It is the one ongoing annual fundraising effort. The Bailey Society was organized to provide the Foundation with the wide base of public support required by the Internal Revenue Service in order to qualify as a Public Foundation. Some features are:

• Direct Support
  Your annual membership donation of $150 or more ($250 for corporations or businesses) goes directly to charities

• Tax Deductible
  The Community Foundation of Sanibel-Captiva is a recognized charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS regulations

• Neighbors Helping Island Neighbors
  Your Gift stays in Sanibel and Captiva. Only Island charities benefit from our Bailey Society Grants

• Sanibel and Captiva Decisions
  A group of your neighbors decides how your money is distributed. The Distribution Committee of the Community Foundation reviews requests and makes grants

• Public Foundation
  Your donation helps the Foundation qualify for the "public support" requirement by the IRS

• Low Administrative Costs
  The Community Foundation of Sanibel-Captiva has combined administrative and investment costs of less than 1.65%
